Currently we have 7 puppies and their mother (shes about 4 or 5 yrs )looking for a forever home . This family came to us from an animal shelter in Galipoilis, Ohio. This shelter has drop off box (its like a BlockBuster bin to return movies, but instead of movies , dogs or cats will be put there). They normally hold dogs for three days, but Mama Kissy captured the heart of the dog warden. The shelter held her for about a month. She delivered 11 puppies in the shelter. My mom and I drove 14 hrs round trip to collect Mama and her babies. Sadly the puppies were deeply infested with Coccidia. One puppy (snoopy) died before we even reach our house. 3 more puppies(Cow; who was the runt and fought the hardest, Whity an Cow) soon followed, despite our efforts.
On our journey we were only able to get Mama Kissy to leave the car once on the whole trip(in the very begining). We soon found out the warden picked her up in a neighbor hood where no-one had ever seen her. We think she was drop off there in hopes to find her own home. We believe the cause of her behavior (of not leaving the car to relieve herself) was due to the fear of being left on the side of the road.
Mama Kissy is a phenomenal Companion. She can plays fetch and happily give the ball back, is completely house trained, she know to sit on command and comes when her name is called. She loves to hold your hand and just adores you. She is an amazing jogging partner. Her only major flaw is that she is slightly food aggressive. She has never lashed out or try to harm the other dogs and cats. When food is out with other animals around she will eat everything in sight too the point where she pukes. When food is out and no other animal is around she eats exactly half of her food and saves the other half for later. She obviously has food issues this may be because of pass abuse. When we first saw her, she was literally skin and bones. Despite her flaws she is very willing to please and just needs reminded. When she goes on walks she can pull but, when you remind her that she has to use her leash manners, she will listen. She loves to point and chase birds. She also loves when any good attention is towards her. She is not allowed on the couch and is very good about following this rule.
